September return for Jack Hobbs Last year's Irish Derby winner Jack Hobbs is set to return for an Autumn campaign. The Godolphin owned son of Halling was pulled up on his only start this season at Newmarket at the end of April when his rider felt he was failing to stretch out. The horse was subsequently found to have sustained a stress fracture to his pelvis. Trainer John Gosden has issued a positive update: "Jack Hobbs is trotting and moving well, and he is being pointed towards a return in September," Gosden told the Godolphin website. The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly on 2nd October is a logical back-end target.
