Serienmond (10/11f) scored on chase debut today, landing Tramore’s QuinnBet Beginners Chase under jockey Keith Donoghue, for the Giddy Up Boy Syndicate and Gold Cup-winning trainer Gavin Cromwell.

Previously twice successful on the Flat in his native Germany and France, Serienmond landed a Leopardstown hurdle race last March and today raced prominently before defeating runner-up Belle The Lioness by three-parts of a length.

Jockey Donoghue said "it was a good performance, he jumped well and had the rating to win the race.

"He had a good run in Fairyhouse and ran okay at Punchestown recently. It's good to win with him first time out over fences and hopefully he can keep progressing, but he is probably a horse that will be put away now."
