Sesenta impresses at Listowel

The feature race of the day The Listowel Races Supporters Club Lartigue Hurdle was won by 100/30 favourite of Willie Mullins Sesenta with champion jockey Ruby Walsh doing the steering for owner Michael Carroll.

Walsh raced his mount in mid-division, made headway approaching 3 out, led before 2 out and stayed on well to win by an impressive 6 lengths holding off the late efforts of Eric McNamara's Perfect Reward .

Willie Mullins said afterwards, "I will probably run her on the flat next maybe in The November Handicap at Leopardstown. The Cesarewitch at The Curragh may come a bit too soon as that race probably took a lot out of her. She's very small at 15.2 and she's probably weighted out over hurdles now."
