The County Carlow trainer does not want to overdo it with the seven-year-old as he has made no secret of his desire to pitch Hidden Cyclone into the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup next season. His stable star's next port of call is likely to be at Naas in a two-and-a-half-mile novice chase on March 11. He will be on a retrieval mission after being under a cloud when disappointing connections when only third to Sir Les Champs at Leopardstown last month after having created such a big impression when winning on his fencing debut there in December. "He was sick the last day he ran, but he's back now and I'm very happy with him," said Hanlon. "It took a lot out of him, so I'd say he won't run for maybe another two or three weeks and he'll probably go to Naas. "He just got a bad dose and a lot of my horses got sick, but I think they are back now and he was one of the worst ones affected. "I'll just give him a couple more runs this year and then let him down early. "The long-term plan would be Cheltenham in a year's time."
