Sheikh Mohammed buys Petrushka Top-flight filly Petrushka has been sold to Sheikh Mohammed`s Darley Stud operation for a figure in excess of 5million US dollars. The four-year-old was retired from racing by owners, Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, earlier this month after suffering a tendon injury on her return to action in the Coronation Cup at Epsom. Sheikh Mohammed`s bloodstock advisor, John Ferguson, said today: 'Darley is absolutely delighted to own a filly of this exceptional calibre. 'It is very unusual for a filly to become available who has such a superb race record, pedigree and charisma - she is a queen.'
