Joey Sheridan partnered a first winner on just his second ride for trainer Joseph O’Brien today, landing Punchestown’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden on the John Farrell-owned-and-bred Snapretend (9/2).

Group 1-winner Sheridan raced Snapretend behind the leaders, improved the filly to lead over a furlong out with the pair scoring by two lengths from Lady Lilac .

Sheridan, in 10th place in the jockeys’ championship, reported “a big thanks to Joseph and it’s nice to pick that up for him. He’s very good to all the lads that go into him on a Wednesday (work morning).

“She was sweet there today, travelled round and kept it nice and smooth. They couldn’t lead me for long enough. I think that 1m2f is a sweet spot, she loved that ground so there could be another one in her.

“John (Farrell) won with both her dam and grand-dam and you can’t beat breeding.”
