Joseph O'Brien's Shoda landed the Tipperary Perpetual Cup Handicap by a neck from a game Not Just Any Eagle at the end of an extended two-miles.

The 5/4 favourite Shoda travelled well to lead narrowly with two furlongs to race, but was far from home.

Not Just Any Eagle really found his second wind and rallied by the furlong marker. Shoda began to edge across from the centre of the track in the final 150 yards and then ended up almost alongside Not Just Any Eagle in the closing stages.

There wasn't much in it close home but Shoda and Dylan Browne McMonagle held the advantage and passed the post with a neck in hand from the 8/1 runner-up. Bottler'secret (15/2) was three lengths adrift in third.

Browne McMonagle said: "She is a deserving winner as the last twice I felt I was in front plenty early on her, so was a target for something to come and get her. I rode her more patiently today, she relaxes better and was a good winner.

"I thought there'd be more speed on, but I had to get her to just relax. She relaxed with a circuit to go and had to ride her with a bit of confidence then. She still got there a half-furlong too soon, but was good and tough."
