Silent Oscar - spring return hoped for

Harry Rogers will attempt to get Silent Oscar ready in time for the major spring races following yet another return from a long injury.

Events have conspired against Silent Oscar, who is very lightly-raced for a 10-year-old and has not been seen since defeating Macs Joy a neck in the Punchestown Champion Hurdle in April 2007.

His latest setback came when a having recurrence of a tendon problem last February.

County Louth-based Rogers said: "He is back in training and at the moment he is in his second month of road work.

"At the moment it is so far, so good.

"It's quite possible he will be ready in time for March and Cheltenham and if not, hopefully then Punchestown.

"We just have to take things slowly."
