Michael Halford is planning to step Sinawann up in grade after the Kingman colt got off the mark on his second start at the Curragh.

Sinawann's early-closing entries include Leopardstown's KPMG Champions Juvenile Stakes and the Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes back at the Curragh later this month.

County Kildare trainer Halford said: "He's a lovely horse. He's done well and improved nicely off his first run.

"We'll see where we go with him, but he’s come out of the run well. He’s entered in the Group Two over Champions Weekend, and he’s also in the National Stakes.

"We'll see - but we do have options with him."

He added of plans for his team on Irish Champions Weekend: "In addition to Sinawann, Roman Turbo could take his chance in the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes. He has done very well so far and likes the Curragh.

"Surrounding is in the Clipper Logistics Boomerang Stakes and she may have an alternative handicap engagement. While she missed out midweek due to being in season from running at Tipperary, she will be spot on.

"We will also have Massif Central in couple of handicaps and Katiymann could run over the two days."

Halford has, however, had to put plans on hold with Ridenza - who will miss the rest of the season after suffering an injury when making a winning debut at Leopardstown this month.

The daughter of Sea The Stars was found to have split a pastern following her smooth success by a length and a half over the fellow Aga Khan-owned Tasalka in a 14-runner maiden over seven furlongs.

However, Halford expects Ridenza to make a full recovery and enjoy a three-year-old campaign in 2020.

He said: "Ridenza unfortunately split a pastern that night, and she’s had surgery, so she won’t be running again as a two-year-old.

"But we're looking forward to getting her back for next year. She’ll be all right in the long-term."
