Sir John Lavery has been supplemented for the Clipper Logistics Boomerang Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday.

Aidan O'Brien's colt was widely considered as a leading Derby contender at the start of the season but disappointed in his trial at Lingfield and after sidestepping Epsom, he failed to fire again in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.

However, dropped in distance and class on his return from a break at Cork last month, he ran away with a Listed prize and is set to step back up to Group Two level this weekend.

Sir John Lavery is one of 20 possible runners, with Ruth Carr's Sovereign Debt and David O'Meara's Custom Cut, who won this prize two years ago, potential British challengers.

The first Group race on Irish Champions Weekend is the Willis Towers Watson Champions Juvenile Stakes.

The Ballydoyle team for this Group Three event includes the seriously impressive Curragh maiden winner Saxon Warrior, as well as the stoutly-bred Mendelssohn and course and distance scorer Nelson.

Jim Bolger's pair of Verbal Dexterity and Theobald are also in the mix.

Eleven horses remain in the KPMG Enterprise Stakes including the hat-trick-seeking Cannonball and high-class-filly Eziyra.
