Sir Lamorak is one of four potential runners for Aidan O’Brien in Wednesday’s Chester Vase.

The Ballydoyle handler has dominated the recognised Derby trial in recent years, saddling nine of the last 13 winners, with subsequent Epsom hero Ruler Of The World striking gold in 2013.

Should Sir Lamorak line up on the Roodee, he would be bidding for a third win from as many starts this season following an all-weather maiden success at Dundalk and an impressive victory in handicap company at Leopardstown.

O’Brien has also entered Sandhurst, San Martino and Sir Lucan in the feature event of the Boodles May Festival.

Charlie Appleby also has a strong hand with Adayar, Yibir and Wirko all in contention.

Adayar and Yibir recently finished second and third in the Classic Trial at Sandown, while Wirko made a successful start to his campaign in the Blue Riband Trial at Epsom.

Law Of The Seas is a fourth Godolphin-owned hopeful, trained by John and Thady Gosden.

Martyn Meade’s Classic Trial fourth Lone Eagle and the Richard Hannon-trained Fancy Man also feature among 13 entries.

The Weatherbys Epassport Cheshire Oaks has attracted 15 fillies, including the unbeaten Zeyaadah from Roger Varian’s yard.

The daughter of Tamayuz won each of her three starts as a juvenile, including a Listed prize at Newmarket.

Her potential rivals at Chester include Mark Johnston’s highly-rated three-year-old Dubai Fountain, Appleby’s Nash Nasha and Meade’s Technique, who was runner-up to the aforementioned Wirko at Epsom recently.

Aidan O’Brien has three possibles in Empress Josephine, La Joconde and Snowfall, while son Donnacha could send Nicest across the Irish Sea.
