Six Irish among Chester Cup entries There are six Irish-trained possibles in the StanJames.com Chester Cup at the Roodee on May 8th. They are headed by the Aidan O'Brien-trained Justification, who won a mile and three-quarters handicap at Leopardstown on Sunday. Willie Mullins has put in last year's dual Royal Ascot victor Simenon as well as Midnight Game, who has been campaigned solely over jumps for the last couple of seasons. Gordon Elliott could look to Bondage and 2011 Coral Cup scorer Carlito Brigante while Dermot Weld's Olympiad makes up the Irish entry. Donald McCain is going all out for a hat-trick of wins having struck with Ile De Re and Overturn in the last two runnings of this famous staying handicap and both are again possibles. Overturn took this prestigious prize in 2011 and was second to his stablemate last season. He is fit from a chasing campaign. Ile De Re followed up with victory in the Northumberland Plate but has been well-beaten on the Flat and over hurdles since then. McCain has a strong back-up team in Aazif, Hollow Tree, Life And Soul and Thimaar. John Quinn has put in Countrywide Flame, who was second in last season's Cesarewitch and third in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham last month. Other interesting entries include Richard Fahey's recent Doncaster winner Ingleby Spirit, the Jonjo O'Neill-trained Tominator and Mark Johnston's quartet of Good Morning Star, Red Orator, Scatter Dice and Sir Graham Wade.
