Veteran Sizing Europe is to kick-off another campaign with his annual visit to Gowran Park for the Champion Chase he has won for the last three years in early October.

Connections of the Henry de Bromhead-trained 12-year-old had considered retirement for the classy performer after he won Punchestown's Champion Chase for a second time in April but soon had second thoughts and decided to keep him going.

De Bromhead told At The Races: "That (Gowran) is the plan. He seems in mighty form at the moment."

He added: "We said we'd see how he's taking his work and everything, and at the moment the only thing you could think about is running him. He's in such good form."

The 2011 Queen Mother Champion Chase hero will have a new rider this season in 18-year-old Johnny Burke, who has been appointed retained jockey to owners Alan and Ann Potts.

Burke was successful on his first ride for the Potts family when Loosen My Load, also trained by de Bromhead, won at Galway on Wednesday.
