Sizing Europe to take summer break Sizing Europe is to have a summer break after firm ground prevented him from signing off for the season at Roscommon. Winner of the AIG Europe Champion Hurdle in 2008, Sizing Europe made a pleasing debut over fences when winning a beginners chase at Punchestown last month. Trainer Henry de Bromhead had hoped to give his stable star more fencing experience in Monday's Pyramid Bookmakers Novice Chase but decided not to risk the seven-year-old due to the quick conditions. "The ground was a bit too lively. There was rain forecast but it didn't materialise, so that was it," said the County Waterford-based handler. "He's in great form and is going out in the field now. We're going to rough him off and bring him back for the autumn. "As for next season, we'll discuss that with the owners (Alan and Ann Potts) during the summer and come up with some sort of plan." Sizing Europe is 14-1 for next year's Arkle Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival with Boylesports.
