Skirt Heads Stoute Team

Sir Michael Stoute looks to hold a strong hand with Musidora Stakes winner Short Skirt heading his four possible contenders for the Vodafone Oaks on June 2.

The Newmarket handler has already won the Epsom Classic with Fair Salinia (1978) and Unite (1987) and he has Riyalma, Sindirana and Newbury winner Scottish Stage as his three other possibles after the latest forfeit stage.

Aidan O'Brien also has two Oaks wins to his name courtesy of Shahtoush (1998) and Imagine (2001) and his four remaining entries are Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial winner Queen Cleopatra, Musidora runner-up Alexandrova, Kushnarenkovo and Race For The Stars.

Confidential Lady, runner-up in the 1000 Guineas, could try to give trainer Sir Mark Prescott a first Classic win while the Heath House handler also has Souvenance engaged in the race.

John Gosden has five possibles including last season's Fillies' Mile winner Nannina, as well Innocent Air, Chatila, Indication and Snow Crystal.

Pam Sly's 1000 Guineas heroine Speciosa is as low as 6-1 with Coral for the Oaks but she would have to be added to the field at the #20,000 supplementary entry stage on May 27.

Recent impressive Cheshire Oaks victor Time On, trained by John Dunlop and a great-granddaughter of the brilliant 1982 Oaks heroine Time Charter, could also be supplemented for the race.

Guilia, a narrow second to Scottish Stage at Newbury, is another eyecatching contender along with the third Makderah.
