Jockey JJ Slevin is looking forward to renewing his partnership with previous winner Fastorslow in Sunday's Grade 1 John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase at Punchestown.

Victorious in the 2023 renewal, the Martin Brassil trained gelding disappointed when sent off 6/4f in last years race.

Despite being off the track for almost a year, Slevin retains plenty of faith in the nine-year-old ahead of his return.

Speaking to Dave Keena, he said: "A very nimble horse in fairness and, he has a great brain for it. Look we only had one blemish and, that probably wasn't his fault so, look hopefully we'll get a good run at the season.

"He has a massive amount of ability and, I don't think people realise how easy he wants to win those top class races even and, he didn't even have to go to the bottom of the well on an occasion or two.

"When he's really on his A-game he is a very good horse."
