JJ Slevin is looking forward to getting back on board Fastorslow in the John Durkan Memorial Chase at Punchestown on Sunday.

The Martin Brassil-trained gelding sprang a shock at the festival meeting in April when lowering the colours of Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs.

Despite going to post a 20/1 shot in the Punchestown Gold Cup the Saint de Saints gelding proved too strong for Willie Mullins' star, as well as Bravemansgame and Envoi Allen.

Slevin reports Fastorslow in fine form as he warms up for the rematch with Galopin Des Champs in Grade 1 company this weekend.

“I think it is the perfect starting point for him. He had a nice run in it last year (when fifth) and hopefully he has improved a bit from last year, he's entitled to have improved,” Slevin told journalist Dave Keena.

“I'm really looking forward to him. It was an unbelievable day here last season. Who knows whether Galopin Des Champs was at his best, I suppose we'll find out next weekend.

“I think he's pretty ready, he's in good shape. I've sat up a bit on him in Martin's and they seem pretty happy with him. I think he's going to be ready to start off, he's going to be at a fighting weight.”
