Slight ground eases at Down Royal and Limerick Heavy rain in the north this morning has seen the ground at Down Royal ease slightly to good from the morning report of good to firm. 5mm of rain overnight had left the course good to firm but persistent rain this morning eased the track further. Manager Mike Todd is not expecting too much further change with the rain forecast to ease around 3pm. "It's been heavy this morning and we've had 10mm from about 8.00am. It's changed to good," said Todd. "They are definately going to take the surface off it but it's nice safe ground and that's our priority. "The course is in real good nick and we have three different tracks for the chase, hurdle and Flat so it should all be good." Limerick got 10mm of rain overnight and the ground there was also described as good this morning.
