Pat Smullen has enjoyed a couple of doubles at Dundalk in recent weeks, and the champion jockey could be among the winners again as the action returns to the Polytrack on Friday.

The Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap is the featured event on the eight-race card, and Alton Bay has strong claims of securing a decent chunk of the €24,000 prize-money in this two-mile test.

The Peter Fahey-trained gelding enjoyed a purple patch when recording a four-timer back in 2014 and while without a victory since, remains in good form.

The eight-year-old has been noted running on in valuable staying handicaps at Killarney and when fourth in the Cesarewitch Trial at Newmarket.

To Choose is on a hat-trick following a couple of wins here last month over a mile and a half, while Jessica Harrington's dual-purpose performer Macnicholson is another to consider and should progress from an outing here last week.

Smullen also takes the mount on Seanie in the opening Dundalk Stadium Claiming Race, and the David Marnane-trained gelding will appreciate this drop in class.

The son of Kodiac, whose rating was as high as 99 when running in the Ahonoora Handicap at the Galway Festival meeting this year, has proved a great money-spinner for connections with five career wins and can be claimed here for €25,000.

Heartful looks another leading player for Smullen in the www.dundalkstadium.com Maiden.

The Moyglare Stud Farm's daughter of Shamardal has kept some good company this year, and her form includes a second to no less than Darley Irish Oaks heroine Seventh Heaven in a maiden at this venue.

Michael Halford rarely leaves here empty-handed, and D'Rock looks the one to beat in division two of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap.

Creeping Ivy opened her account in good style over course and distance last month, and the Tony Martin-trained filly is taken to follow up in the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Apprentice Handicap.
