Trainer Aidan O'Brien has issued a positive update on his leading Guineas entrants ahead of Newmarket this weekend.

Luxembourg heads the Ballydoyle runners for Saturday's 2,000 Guineas, being a 5/1 chance with Point Lonsdale generally available at 14/1.

O'Brien reports “it’s so far so good with Luxembourg and Point Lonsdale. They both went well when we brought them to the Curragh after racing and have done well since.

"They will work in the middle of the week and then go from there. The plan with both is to go there, they have wintered well and came through the spring well.

"They are two fine big uncomplicated horses and very easy to do anything with. Obviously, we have the rest of the week to get through."

Ballydoyle's Tenebrism is 3/1 favourite for Sunday's 1,000 Guineas with Tuesday an 8/1 chance and he added “we have three fillies left in the 1000 Guineas. Tenebrism and Tuesday look more likely to run at the moment and Toy could go to the French Guineas.

“Her run wasn’t that long ago and we could give her a bit more time. In the middle of the week, we will have a fair idea.

“Tenebrism has done everything we have asked and everything has gone well so far. The horses have been running well so far this season so we are hopeful.”
