It wasn't to be Darragh O'Keeffe's day at the final meeting of 2025 as, after being brought down on short-priced favourite Slade Steel in the opener at Punchestown, his mount Sommesky fell at the last with the Tote's Cheers To 2026 Handicap Hurdle at his mercy.

Sommesky had just asserted and was a couple of lengths up when clipping the top of the final flight, and his exit left his three closest pursuers in with a chance.

It was Linden Arden (14/1) who found most under Brian Hayes to score by a length and a half from San Hilario (3/1 favourite) with A Dream To Share another two lengths away in third.

John Bowe's homebred son of the mighty Solerina was a 20/1 winner at this course in October and this was a fifth career success for the Jet Away gelding.

Trainer Harry Kelly said “He’d a bit of luck today. He runs well fresh and likes a bit of nicer ground. “He likes it here and is suited by a track that doesn’t have a tough finish."
