The Curragh Cup or the Give Thanks Stakes is next on the agenda for Midnight Soprano after her game victory in the Group 3 Noblesse Stakes at Cork on Sunday afternoon.

The Paul Deegan trained six-year-old, won two Listed races at the Curragh and Leopardstown last year and on her third attempt at Group 3 company, she battled gamely under Marc Monaghan to beat Magical Dream by a head.

It was a great performance from the daughter of Celtic Swing, considering it was her first start of the year and Deegan now has his sights set on further Group glory.

The Curragh based handler said this afternoon; "She has come out of the race in great order and she’ll go for the Curragh Cup (finished second in that race last year) now or possibly go back to Cork for the Give Thanks Stakes (Group 3).”

Deegan went on to talk about Sruthan, who disappointingly finished last of six in the Group 3 Ballycorus Stakes at Leopardstown last Thursday.

The gelded son of Arakan impressively won the Listed Tetrarch Stakes at the Curragh last month but ran below par over a further trip at on his next outing.

He was dropped back to the Tetrarch trip at Leopardstown last week, but he put in another below par performance.

Deegan said this afternoon; "We were very disappointed with him last Thursday.

"Your guess is as good as mine as to what was up with him and we don’t know where we’ll go next with him."
