Soul sixth as Alben Stars Russian Soul could finish only sixth behind Alben Star in the Unibet All-Weather Sprint Championships Conditions Stakes at Lingfield for a second time. Mick Halford's inmate was sent off a big price under Shane Foley but could never land a blow. Richard Fahey's eight-year-old Alben Star was a 25-1 winner of the £150,000 prize in 2014 and filled the runner-up spot behind Pretend in last year's renewal. Having disappointed on his last couple of appearances in Listed company, Alben Star was a 7-1 shot for his Good Friday return, but was always travelling powerfully in the hands of David Nolan. Lancelot Du Lac moved smoothly to the lead after straightening up for home, but had no answer to Alben Star's late charge and there was two and a quarter lengths between them at the line. Goken, the 5-2 favourite, just beat Boom The Groom to third spot.
