Johnny Murtagh followed up a winner at Dundalk yesterday evening by taking His Majesty’s Cup Handicap with Emerald Harmony at Bellewstown.

The Soldier’s Call filly, who made all in a Tipperary maiden last summer, was again prominent throughout here over five furlongs and showed a good attitude at the business end.

Ben Coen ’s mount found a bit extra in the closing stages to get the better of a protracted battle with fellow 9/2 joint favourite Cuban Grey by a head.

There was a two and a quarter lengths gap back to Only Spoofing in third.

Murtagh said, “Ben says she’s quick. She learned as she went along last year, and I suppose for a three-year-old it is hard. We are hoping she can improve a little bit more this year as a four-year-old.

"Loved the ground and hit the road well, and she just found that little bit in the last bit. She is very game, and she is very honest."
