Spencer Hopeful For Fracas Big-race jockey Jamie Spencer is hoping Fracas can maintain his unbeaten run when he tackles the Vodafone Derby at Epsom on Saturday. The David Wachman-trained son of In The Wings dug deep to beat Alayan a short head in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial and is due to complete his preparations with a final piece of work today (Tuesday). Spencer told At The Races on Monday: 'He´s never disappointed. He´s run three times and won three times and his last race was tactical. 'David is happy with the way his preparation has gone and hopefully he will come through his final piece of work tomorrow. 'Fingers crossed for the weekend - I´m really looking forward to the race. 'I heard there was a bit of watering this morning so I think it will be safe ground for every horse.' Spencer believes Fracas will have learnt plenty from his last start as he was not really extended when winning his maiden at Leopardstown or when claiming the Sandown Classic Trial. He added: 'He probably didn´t learn a lot in his first two races as as I never really had to go through all the gears but last time he had to really knuckle down and he had to battle. 'He was still a little bit green but you had to be impressed with the way his battling qualities came out.' ? PA Sport
