A field of 20 will line up for the featured Bar One Racing Troytown Handicap Chase at Navan on Sunday and Noel Meade's Sportinthepark is likely to be towards the head of the market on his handicap debut.

The six-year-old is a second-season chaser and, on his first start since November 2024, was successful off his lower hurdles mark at Galway last month.

“We got a piece of work into him on Wednesday and he seemed to do it well," said Meade.

“We’re happy with him and fingers crossed, he’ll run well.

“He won well over hurdles at Galway (2m6f) after a lengthy break, but it’s a big jump from that to a Troytown and he’s only had a few runs over fences.

“I don’t think the (soft to heavy) ground will be a problem but the three miles might be. We haven’t seen if he will or he won’t get it.”
