Sportsmaster set for step up in class Edward O'Grady's Sportsmaster is set to be raised in grade after making it second time lucky over hurdles at Naas earlier this month. The four-year-old won twice on the Flat for Andrew Oliver, but unseated his rider in the early stages of his debut over obstacles at Leopardstown. He made no mistake on his latest appearance and is now set to contest the Grade One Spring Juvenile Hurdle back at Leopardstown on February 12th for owner JP McManus. McManus' racing manager Frank Berry said: "He's come out of his last race well and Edward is very happy with the horse at the moment. "You would like to think he'll have learnt a lot from that run and all going well, he'll go to Leopardstown on Hennessy day for the good juvenile race." Another interesting McManus-owned youngster is It's A Gimme, last seen beating the smart Colour Squadron in a Newbury maiden hurdle in November. "He'll have a few entries in the next week or two in small races and we'll see how he gets on there. His form obviously looks strong, lets hope it's as good as it looks," Berry added.
