Springbank makes her return on Sunday Paul Deegan is happy to see the rain fall ahead of Lady Springbank's return to action in the Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday. The filly, winner of the Leopardstown 1000 Guineas Trial on soft ground in March, has not been seen since finding conditions too quick when unplaced in the Classic itself in May. "The ground looks good and we'll let her take her chance," said Deegan. "It's a mile and one furlong so we'll see if she stays. She's in very good form and ready to get started for the back-end of the year." Deegan is three-handed in the Listed contest as he also saddles the five-year-old Celtic Soprano and Diam Queen, who has recently joined his Curragh team from Luca Cumani's Newmarket stable. "She seems a nice filly and the owners sent her over for some soft ground," Deegan went on. "Hopefully we'll get more rain and she takes her chance. We've not done much with her, but she's held in high regard and just needs some slow ground. "We are running Celtic Soprano to see if she is up to this grade over shorter trips. "She couldn't do it at Leopardstown the other day over further but she has sharpened up at home. She's none the worse for that run."
