Fozzy Stack is eyeing more Group 1 targets for Thesecretadversary after his fifth placed finish in the Betfred 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

The St Mark’s Basilica colt raced keenly in the early stages of the race on the Rowley Mile on Saturday before flattening out late on behind impressive winner Bow Echo.

Stack feels that early enthusiasm may have cost him a place in the Classic and is looking ahead now to more top level contests.

“He didn’t do himself any favours in the first couple of furlongs which could have cost him third place. He ran well given the way he raced,” said Stack.

“Seamie (Heffernan) said he got upset in the gates and in Newmarket, you jump off and then go downhill so his revs were up.

“He is only getting home at lunchtime today but we won’t rule any race out now. We’ll see how he is and make a plan but I wouldn’t rule out running in another Group 1 race soon.”
