Streets Of Doyen set for Cheltenham John McConnell is hoping Streets Of Doyen will improve off a break when he lines up for the mallardjewellers.com Novices' Chase at Cheltenham today. The seven-year-old gelding was last seen finishing a remote third of five when favourite for a novices´ limited handicap chase at Worcester in August, after which a few issues came to light. The trainer said: “If Streets Of Doyen brings his 'A' game then he has a big chance. He’ll like the ground and the trip will suit him well. He likes Cheltenham. “We found a few little issues after he ran in Worcester so hopefully he’s better than that. It’s a competitive race." Streets Of Doyen won a novices' hurdle at Cheltenham in October last year. McConnell also runs Go Another One over the marathon trip of an extended three miles three furlongs in the Grade 3 Jewson Click And Collect Handicap Chase, with 5lb-claimer Kieren Buckley on board. “Go Another One is stepping up in trip but I think he’ll stay alright," he said. “We decided to claim off him just to give him every chance. It’s also a competitive race even though there’s a small field. We had to take our chance with the money on offer. “Hopefully we’ll get one of them across the line.” Additional reporting by Alan Magee
