Strong Irish entry in Welsh National Gordon Elliott's pair Chicago Grey and Beautiful Sound are among the 79 entries for the Coral Welsh National at Chepstow which takes place this year on December 27. Willie Mullins could call upon the likes of Quiscover Fontaine, Some Target and On His Own for the marathon chase, while previous winner Notre Pere would make just his second start for new trainer Barry Potts. Jim Dreaper, who saddled Notre Pere to success in 2008, has Telenor while, all roads lead to the Chepstow for Cappa Bleu following his comeback victory at Haydock on Saturday. The nine-year-old surprised his trainer Evan Williams when returning from a 20-month absence to win a three-mile handicap chase by a head from Tamarinbleu. "It was very nice for the horse. He looked like he was going to be a very smart horse when he won the Foxhunter at Cheltenham," said the Llancarfan trainer. "The Hennessy was what finished the horse for such a long time. The fall in that race really knocked him sideways, so it was very nice to see him come back and enjoy himself. He's come out of it brilliant, but I don't want to get too carried away. "The plan has always been the Welsh National. The whole point of going to Haydock was to get a run under his belt with the aim of going to Chepstow." Synchronised and Giles Cross, who filled the first two places in last year's race, are again among the possible runners with last year's winner installed as the 5/1 favourite with the sponsors following a promising recent outing over hurdles at Haydock.
