Trainer Richard Hannon reports Strong Suit on course for a clash with Frankel in the JLT Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on Saturday week.

Hannon's charge was last of six when he took on Sir Henry Cecil's unbeaten colt in the Greenham Stakes at the Berkshire track in April 2011.

Strong Suit was way below his best that day but bounced back to win the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and Newmarket's Challenge Stakes.

He was well beaten in the Breeders' Cup Mile at Churchill Downs on his final start in November and has yet to win at Group One level.

His preparation for his first run of the campaign is going well, despite the wet weather.

"We are hoping that it might have stopped raining by then and that the ground could start to dry up, but Strong Suit is in good form and did a nice piece of work with Libranno up at Everleigh on Tuesday morning," the Marlborough-based handler told www.richardhannonracing.tv.
