Sunday Sovereign in line for Ascot date Paddy Twomey is eyeing Royal Ascot for Sunday Sovereign after the exciting two-year-old cruised home in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race over five furlongs at Tipperary. Sent off the 2.5 favourite, King Power Racing’s recent acquisition is now two from three after powering away from his rivals by seven lengths in the hands of Billy Lee. Twomey said: “He did it well. He has run three times and has run well three times, and I don’t think ground matters to him. “I’d imagine his owners would like to go to Royal Ascot and I’d imagine the Norfolk Stakes would be where he will be going, but he will probably have entries in some of the two-year-old races that week. “He won up the Curragh over six so I think he’ll be fine at whatever.” Twomey has been enjoying a fine season, and sent out Decrypt to be placed in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and Foxtrot Liv likewise in the fillies’ equivalent.
