Supple Quits As Hamdan Number Two

Willie Supple has explained the reason for his decision to quit as number two rider to Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.

The 37-year-old Kerry-born jockey wants to end his career in his native Ireland.

'I've made the decision and I've been thinking about it the last couple of weeks. I'd like to finish my career in Ireland,' he told At The Races.

'Hopefully I can keep going. They don't race in Ireland every day so I can still go to England a few days a week.

'You don't get much time during the season and there's family reasons as well.'
