Susie Lenglen takes the top spot in Tramore's finale Noel Meade’s Susie Lenglen (15/8) gained a maiden success on her third attempt today, landing Tramore’s concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Bumper for jockey Maxine O’Sullivan and the filly’s new owner Francis Carragher. Held up in rear, the daughter of Berkshire made headway to challenge in the dip and eventually battled well for a half-length win over Lilannbee . Jockey O'Sullivan reported "the race didn't go ideally to be honest. Nothing really went the way I wanted but she is a really, really nice filly and stays really well. Noel had said the stronger the gallop they go, the better but not to make the running. I was just caught a bit further back but in the end she was really good. "She is a lovely mare and things didn't go her way through the race but she got me out of trouble in the end. I've had winners for Noel in the past, around the time when Nina retired, and it's really nice to be riding for him again. I've two winners left on my 5lb claim." Suzanne Lenglen was a French tennis player and was the inaugural world No. 1 from 1921 to 1926. Quotes from Donal Murphy
