Swan ponders Buck options

Charlie Swan has a choice of options for Buck Barrow next weekend as the County Tipperary handler seeks to find a winning opportunity for the young prospect.

The six-year-old, owned by JP McManus, has shown a fair level of form in finishing second in big fields in two maiden hurdles at Navan and Leopardstown.

Swan believes the Milan gelding can get off the mark over the smaller obstacles, although chasing will be his game.

"He'll probably run next weekend. He'll go either to Navan on the Sunday or Leopardstown on the Sunday for a maiden hurdle," said the trainer.

"He's been second in his last two races, but I think good horses have beaten him.

"He's a nice type and I think his future is over fences.

"He's a very good jumper and hopefully he'll pick up a couple of novice hurdles on the way."
