Tamburlaine resting after Ascot flop Tamburlaine was found to be suffering from an infection following his disappointing run in the St James`s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last week. The Sagitta 2000 Guineas runner-up could only finish seventh to Black Minnaloushe in the Group One contest, but there does appear to be a valid excuse for the poor effort.'He almost got knocked over in the race and when we got him home we had him scoped and found he has an infection so we`re giving him a bit of a rest,' trainer Richard Hannon told the Racing Channel.Hannon has not decided on the next race for the Royal Academy colt but the Group One Champagne Lanson Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on August 1 could figure in plans.'I haven`t spoken to the owners yet but we will map out a campaign for him,' he said. However, the Marlborough trainer was delighted with the effort of Umistim, who finished fifth to Medicean in the Group Two Queen Anne Stakes.'He ran the race of his life there - and he got hit over the head,' added Hannon.
