Owner Barry Connell is excited at the prospect of The Tullow Tank jumping fences, with the Bar One Racing Drinmore Chase his first major target.

The Tullow Tank took the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle on the same card at Fairyhouse last December and Connell is keen to return to the same track for a crack at the big novice chase.

The six-year-old has not raced since February and Connell switched him from Philip Fenton's stable to Dessie Hughes's yard in Kildare where he has begun his early-season training.

"He's doing well. The plan for him is to aim at the Drinmore Grade One in early December," said Connell.

"He won the Royal Bond there last year over the same course and distance, so the plan would be to aim him at that.

"Hopefully, he'll win his beginners' chase somewhere first in October and then on to the Drinmore if everything is going well at that stage.

"He's been cantering there about three weeks now and probably won't be stepping up his work for another couple of weeks. He's definitely one to look forward to."
