Tatateo gets rub of the green Despite being returned a 2/5 chance, Tatateo was rather fortuitous in the Oasis At The Races Acquiesce Friday August 15th Maiden Hurdle. Racing in second for much of this four-year-old only contest, the Denis Hogan-trained bay ran off the bend approaching the straight and was struggling to get on terms with the front-running Louiescall on the approach to the last. Blundering at that obstacle, the latter was soon headed and couldn't regain the momentum lost, ultimately going down by three-quarters of a length. The second choice of punters at 5/2, Cian Quirke was aboard the runner-up for Harry Kelly, while Harpy Eagle (33/1), running his best race to date, was just a length-and-three-quarters back in third. "He is only a small little horse. It's quite tight around here and we were getting racing down the hill into a sharp bend and he ran off it a little," winning rider Daniel King explained. "In fairness, when I straightened him up again, he picked up well and done it nicely to the line. "I think I would have caught the one in front either way. When my lad hit the front, he was half idling."
