Owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing have decided not to supplement Telescope for next month's Ladbrokes St Leger.

After a frustrating start to the season which involved missing the Investec Derby, Sir Michael Stoute managed to get the highly-regarded colt back on track for a late summer campaign and he made an effortless return at Leicester.

Despite suffering a defeat at Haydock, Telescope came back to his very best with victory in last week's Great Voltigeur Stakes at York, a noted Leger trial.

Highclere managing director Harry Herbert did not rule out adding him to the field for the Leger, or even contesting the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe but he is now likely to head to Ascot on Champions Day.

A tweet from the syndicate said: "Telescope will not run in the Ladbrokes St Leger. His likely next start will be in the QIPCO Champion Stakes in October."
