Terrestrial suffers serious injury

John Gosden has received a blow with the news that his promising three-year-old Terrestrial has sustained a serious injury and may not race again.

Terrestrial, owned by Prince Khalid Abdullah, was being aimed at the Prix du Jockey-Club at Chantilly by the Manton trainer after his win in a conditions event at Newmarket`s Guineas meeting.

But the colt suffered an injury on the gallops yesterday and Gosden said today: 'We`ll see how the operation goes but it will require four screws and a plate and it won`t be easy. The action he has doesn`t bode well for the future.'
