Testing ground at the Curragh The Curragh has been hit by 20mm of rain in the past 24 hours and it’s now Heavy on the straight course and Soft, Soft to Heavy in places on the round course. The forecast is for a few more showers this morning and then a mainly dry afternoon, with the first of eight races off at 2.05pm. Down Royal is Yielding to Soft, Soft in places following 13mm of rain in the last 24 hours. It’s still raining there with the rain due to clear before the first of seven races under National Hunt rules at 2.20pm. Navan is Soft to Heavy ahead of tomorrow’s Flat card following 10mm of rain. The showers are to due to clear later today, with a mainly dry outlook thereafter. Wexford has had 16mm of rain and is now Soft, Soft to Heavy in places ahead of tomorrow’s meeting. The forecast is for mainly dry weather with a drying wind.
