Nigel Twiston-Davies has given The New One the green light to contest the inaugural running of the Betfair Price Rush Hurdle at Haydock on November 22.

One of the ante-post favourites for the Champion Hurdle after an unlucky run in the race last season, he made a flawless comeback at Kempton last weekend.

He won the corresponding race 12 months ago but did not then run again until the International at Cheltenham in December, which he also won, but Twiston-Davies is favouring an outing before then this time.

"The New One has come out of his race at Kempton in great form, I'm really happy with him," said the Naunton handler.

"We're planning to go to the new race at Haydock with him next, I think it looks the right spot."

The Twiston-Davies-trained Splash Of Ginge, winner of the Betfair Hurdle last season, will be seen next at Cheltenham's Paddy Power meeting in November.

Well beaten on his chasing debut, he turned the form around dramatically with David Pipe's Ainsi Fidelis at Cheltenham earlier this month.

"As for Splash Of Ginge, I was really pleased with him," said Twiston-Davies.

"There's a race for him at the Paddy Power meeting and we'll see how he gets on there."
