The Real Screamer roars home for Flynn The Real Screamer absolutely hacked up in the optional claimer that got the action under way in Tipperary this evening. Paul Flynn's charge hadn't been running badly in handicaps and cut through the field into second entering the home straight. Wesley Joyce had attempted to assert on front-runner Man Is King, however, the pair were swallowed up a furlong and a-half down by strong-travelling The Real Screamer who went off 7/4 favourite. The new leader galloped on relentlessly for Dylan Browne McMonagle who could afford to ease him down in winning by five lengths from Roman Harry (11/2). Signor Ferrari (15/2) completed the placings in third, a further three-and-a-half-lengths adrift. Browne McMonagle said: "He is a nice-looking horse, was very solid in Dundalk through the winter, and then had a nice comeback run in Navan. He looked like he would step forward and win at Ballinrobe, but Chris (Hayes) said he didn't handle the track. "He stepped forward from his latest run at Roscommon and it was just a matter of not getting in trouble on him today. He is a good bit better than them, it was good to see him get back to his best and he hit the line good." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
