Thetote.com to sponsor this years Galway Plate The Tote was revealed as the new sponsor of one of Ireland’s most historic races, the Galway Plate, at a reception in Dublin today. The three year sponsorship deal commences this year and will cover the entire eight races on Tote Galway Plate Day including the €200,000 Galway Plate. The Galway Plate will now be called the www.thetote.com Galway Plate, promoting the Tote's online Irish and UK Tote pool betting website. Tim Naughton, Chairman of Galway Race Committee, said:- “The Galway Race Committee are delighted that the Tote has agreed to sponsor Galway Plate Day at the Summer Festival Meeting for the next three years. The Tote has been sponsoring in Galway for the past number of years and their decision to sponsor the world famous Galway Plate is very welcome news to all of us. Galway Race Committee and the Tote have worked closely together for the last number of years and the record Tote turnover for a day of €2.1 million was achieved in Galway on Thursday 2nd August 2007.
