Think again in Prince of Wales Stakes

The Prince of Wales's Stakes is the feature race at Royal Ascot on Wednesday and there's a major defection in this as Cirrus Des Aigles is not going to run.

This leaves it seemingly as a match between the Queen's horse Carlton House and So You Think who was infamously beaten in this race 12 months ago by the ill-fated Rewilding.

It could well be a big chance for So You Think to go one better but I wouldn't be going in head down.

Although this horse has been tremendously consistent he's had some hard races in his career and he has just been giving the impression that he might be going off the boil a little bit.

He was a bit disappointing in the Dubai World Cup, he didn't end last season very well at the Breeders' Cup and last time out he had a very easy task at the Curragh.

Having said all that he should beat Carlton House and, certainly, that's what the official handicapper thinks as he's got 6lbs in hand on the ratings.

Carlton House won the Brigadier Gerard Stakes on his comeback at Sandown last month. He'd been off the course for quite some time before that after running creditably in last year's Derby and then appearing not to stay in the Irish equivalent.

He remains a very promising horse, he's lightly-raced with a great attitude and a mile and a quarter is probably his ideal distance.

But at this stage one would expect So You Think to have his measure.
