Thornton out of action today

Robert Thornton will miss his rides at Huntingdon on Wednesday, including the mount on JCB Triumph Hurdle favourite Mille Chief, after he was detained in hospital overnight following a fall at Leicester on Tuesday.

Wayne Hutchinson, second jockey at Alan King's yard, will replace Thornton who took a crashing fall from Cracboumwiz, when the horse fell at the third last fence of the Dick Christian Novices' Chase.

Thornton, who was not thought to have been seriously injured, was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary and underwent x-rays before he was kept in overnight for observation.

A spokeswoman for the King stable said: "Choc doesn't ride on Wednesday as he is still in hospital."
