Dundalk takes centre stage in Ireland on Friday with a seven-race card that features five handicaps.

The action kicks off at 4.15 and runs through to the finale at 7.30 and we have provided selections and analysis for three of the races.

Selections

5.25 Dundalk - Jabbar

Jabbar ran out an impressive winner at Dundalk in January, coming home six and a half-lengths clear of the opposing Jerandme, and a bold bid to make it two from two over course and distance is expected.

The versatile son of Galileo Gold should relish the return to two miles and although being handed a 5lb rise for that latest success, that shouldn’t be enough to stop him from taking the spoils.

Gerard O’Leary’s runner finished third in a premier handicap over this trip in October and, with Keithen Kennedy claiming a very useful 5lb, the duo can take this contest to set up another crack at some top end handicaps.

6.00 Dundalk - Queens Fury

Queens Fury made it 10th time lucky when getting off the mark in a course and distance maiden at Dundalk in November, with the form franked by the second-placed stablemate Ardagh Red winning next time out.

That should have served as a nice confidence-boost for this daughter of Blue Point, who had run well in hot maidens won by some of Ballydoyle's leading juvenile fillies early last season.

While she hasn't necessarily progressed from that level of form, the three-year-old still sets a reasonable standard in this company and remains open to improvement on an artificial surface.

Adrian Murray’s runners continue to go well at Dundalk and she may provide some value against the Joseph O’Brien-trained Cee En Gee, who is the likely favourite given his profile.

However, Cee En Gee will have to improve on the level of form shown on debut and may not be suited by this drop back in trip.

7.00 Dundalk - Elegant Madame

Adrian Murray and Wayne Lordan will be hoping for more success on the Dundalk card with Elegant Madame set to run in the mile handicap at 7.00.

This consistent Inns Of Court filly has finished runner-up in her last three runs over a mile and has excellent claims of going one place better in this company.

She finished second in a hot Gowran handicap in July with progressive fillies Vivienda and Raknah in behind. She then bumped into handicap blot Bucaneer’s Spirit at Cork before finishing second over course and distance last time.

Elegant Madame is clearly well suited for all-weather racing with her only previous win coming on Lingfield’s Polytrack for previous connections.

This looks like a good opportunity for a first handicap win despite a frustrating 5lb rise for her latest outing.
