Three horses to follow at Dundalk on Wednesday Midweek racing in Ireland comes from the golden sands of Dundalk, with an eight-race offering from the Co Louth circuit from early afternoon through until teatime. They get underway at Dundalk at 1.35 with a 5f maiden and race through until 5.40 with some typically competitive handicaps along the way. We've picked out three horses to follow on the card as Ireland stages a first meeting of the week. Dundalk Tips 2.10 Dundalk - Mythical Rock 4.30 Dundalk - Endless Dawn 5.40 Dundalk - Annaghmccanns 2.10 Dundalk - Book Online At DundalkStadium.com Maiden (5f) This is a weak looking maiden on paper and the experienced MYTHICAL ROCK should be ready to put his stamp on the race on his first appearance for new handler Pat Murphy. The Rock Of Gibraltar colt had three placed efforts in maidens in his eight runs on turf and he also ran well when fourth in an 18-runner Galway handicap in October. He signed off his time with James Barrett with a pair of placed efforts in maidens at this venue in December, both runs over slightly further than this trip. He didn't do a lot wrong in either instance and this contest appears the weakest he will have contested on the Polytrack. Luke McAteer returns in the saddle here and is riding with confidence after three wins from six of late. He can continue his good form at Dundalk. 4.30 Dundalk - DundalkStadium.com Handicap (7f) Bottom-weight ENDLESS DAWN is one to watch closely for trainer Ado McGuinness in this 7f handicap for horses rated 47-65. The daughter of Twilight Son creeps in off a mark of 51, set to carry 8st 12lb with Jamie Powell easing that burden to the tune of 3lb in the saddle. The filly didn't show much in three turf runs last season for Natalia Lupini, but has quickly improved switched to handicaps on the all-weather for this handler. She was fourth over 6f last month on stable bow after a three-month break and then occupied the same berth over a mile a fortnight later. She travelled quite eye-catchingly in that contest but was short of room at a crucial stage. Dropping back to 7f could be optimal and she is entitled to make her mark in this grade before long. 5.40 Dundalk - View Restaurant At Dundalk Stadium Handicap (1m2&1/2f) Trainer Stuart Crawford doesn't have a long journey from his base at Newlands Farm in Larne to Dundalk, but the prominent National Hunt handler is a relatively infrequent visitor to this venue. It is perhaps no shock, however, that he is making the trip south with his mare ANNAGHMCCANNS, after she landed a maiden here over a mile in November on the middle run of three at Dundalk early in the winter. Wayne Lordan was in the plate for that outing and gave the Kuroshio mare a confident spin as they sat handy and picked up the running two-furlongs down before seeing it out strongly. Either side of that, she was ridden by claiming riders and was always on the back foot after tardy starts, including on her handicap bow off a mark of 73 at the start of December. Eased 1lb now, she goes up in trip, which should bring about further progress and has the assistance of Lordan in the saddle, the rider fresh off riding a double at this track on Friday evening.
