Three up for Johnny Soda The Go Nutz Racing Syndicate-owned Johnny Soda notched up his third win of the season when taking the SIS Supporting Irish Racing Handicap at Killarney. Successful at Cork in May and at Leopardstown last month, the Ado McGuinness-trained 4/1 chance battled well under Adam Caffrey to get the better of Joseph O'Brien’s 5/1 shot Vishaya and Dylan Browne McMonagle. Each of his wins have been by half a length. “He was a breeze-up horse from last year, I bought him off Ian McCarthy,” said McGuinness. “I was told he was a very nice horse and he’s proved it now. I thought we weren’t well handicapped at the start of the year but he’s done really well. “He’s a decent horse and I think he can progress more; he could turn into a premier handicap horse before we’re finished. He’s a big huge horse. “Adam was very good on him. He said there was going to be no pace. He thought Dylan might make it and he didn’t give him a freebie, he sat on his girth. “Dylan kicked early off the bend but he cruised into the race. I’m very happy. “It’s a great bunch of lads that own him. Most of them are from Dublin. They’ll be happy men today so I’m delighted.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
